Tdisct(w) Reflects

Today we decided to jog to the rural and do 6 200m hill sprints and then jog back down. It was a morning in which we knew quite well that fall was here. I was freezing on the jog over and even during the sprints my hands were numb. It was kind of depressing this morning waking up in the dark again. It hard to believe that the season is over. Like tdisckree said today "It's just way to long of a winter to do only 2 races." It's true...next year tdisc will be going with a full slate of races.

As most of you know...Tdisct(w) was a founder of tdisc and is also the wife of the Admiral. Ya...she's a marvelous woman! Today she took the time out of her schedule to reflect on the year that was.

"k so from the outside looking in on the past year, I have a few moments that are hard to forget myself:

1- John getting a flat in Brackley and then hitch hiking in his bike
shoes while the rest of us biked into 50km/hr headwind to get a car to
pick him up

2- Playing chicken with a women in Stratford and then getting the
finger (still looking for license plate number 2XY 34A)

3- Getting dropped on a 'walk' by the admiral (not John) the day before
the Fred triathlon b/c I was going too slow

4- Frantic phone calls made by the admiral (not John) the day before
the triathlon to try and find a wetsuit...while 'Greggy' could care less
if he had to swim in his tri shorts

5- Bi-weekly blogs and phone calls made by Pye to say he
quit/retired/hates running

6- UPEI track runs where the pace would change from a 9 min mile to a 6
min mile in one loop

7- Fend for yourself bike rides

8- John making it through his first year of triathlon training and
spending only $60 on gear

9- Greg and John buying a wet suit that never made it to a race

10- 'The Tilt and Nod' ......IE....Pyes reaction to friends and family
as he runs/bikes by in races

11- Dad getting hired by Atlantic Chip timing to shout out lead times
in coming triathlon races

12- 'Kree' coming up with the slogan 'Why Not?' and the following day
when asked to do an ironman in 2010 says 'absolutely not.'

13- The most emotional and physical drama I have ever witnessed between
4 males
"

Tomorrow is my turn to reflect. I look forward to the opportunity to look back on the year that was. We will also be swimming again tomorrow morning.

Till next time,
Tdiscpye
