Tdisc makes step towards expansion

On a quiet storm day Tdisc found a way to make some noise. Before we get to the expansion part...one member of the big 4 released a statement concerning his whereabouts over the past few days. At lunch time today this message went out..."T.Disc,

I first want to apologize for my lack of attendance lately, and I know there is no excuse, but I have been very under the weather. A combination of being extremely tired and not having the admiral pulling back on the reins has left me in bed all day Sunday and yesterday. I am slowly getting my strength back, and I hope tomorrow I can be back to par. But mark my words I will make up for everything I missed while the rest of T.Disc is away at Atlantics. As long as I am back to myself by Friday I plan on attending the race this Saturday. I am going to leave it up to my teammates in which they would like me to run. Either the full 10k, or the 5k. I figured it might be a good way of introducing the 10k to T.Disc by setting the standard as I did for the last race. By the results it looks like it worked out well. I was very proud when I heard the results of last week’s race. Especially a shout out to the bronze medal winner. Also to T.Disckree for pace setting for the admiral.

Thanks for understanding,

T.Discgreggy"

As you are well aware tdisc has been leaning towards the idea of expansion. Well today I am proud to announce that BHM and Tdisc have processed a tryout agreement for Jason Flick. A copy of the Tdisc constitution was sent to Mr. Flick through his agent(superfan flickthis). They read and accepted the terms of the tryout agreement and agreed to start on the 6th day of April in the year of 2009. Via a phone interview Mr. Flick said he was "excited" to get the opportunity. "I'm ecstatic" commented a happy admiral after his 3rd place finish on the weekend. Tdisc is very excited with it's new prospect and can't wait to get him in the mix. It was a few days in the making but in the end Tdisc couldn't deny any man this lifestyle. Tdisc still has room for further expansion...if you'd like a copy of the Tdisc constitution then please contact us as soon as possible.

We all found a way to get a run in today and tommorow we are back in the pool. This will be our last team workout until monday of next week. 3 of the big 4 go to the atlantics...runs will be a common occurance. Oh ya....how about the blog surpassing the 3000 hit mark...thanks for the support!

Till next time,

Tdisc shows concern over Captains absence

I woke up today thinking...holy cow...I just went to sleep..awww time to get up. With a 1 hour swim planned for the morning we pushed it back to a 7 o'clock start but it was still extremely painful. To sum up this mornings workout i'll direct you to an article published shortly after the swim.
Charlottetown :
On a quiet monday morning three of the big four quickly put to rest the feelings and memories of this past weekends race. A more out-spoken Admiral was clearly looser and more talkative with the media today. Apparently having the first race in the books has taken a little of the pressure off the big gun heading into the season. However, he stressed he's not sitting on his podium finish and stated " Its a good start, but its only a start. We have to set our sights on the DQ race in two weeks. We'll train hard the next 10 days and then pull back before race-day. Perhaps at the end of the season I'll enjoy my bronze medal a little more, but right now myself and the team are focused on race #2." The team covered a lot of ground in the pool today and seemed quite comfortable in the water. One ommission from the workout today was the Captain TDISCGREGGY. The team did not comment on his status but said there are no injuries and no troubles within the team. The Outdoor Race-Day sponsored by ElleDiva slated for tommorrow may be cancelled due to inclement weather. The team may race indoors or re-arrange schedule for a race to occur on Wed. Keep an eye on www.bloggingwithtdisc.blogspot.com for updates on Tdisc training schedule.

I felt good in the pool again today, but this time I was a little less motivated. The high of the first race has worn off and now it's back to the grind. When someone is struggling we often throw a quote there way...today when I was voicing my concern about my motivation tdisckree looked at me and said..."you just have to keep on keepin on".
As the article pointed out we had one noticeable absentee from today's workout. Our captain Tdiscgreggy. As reports have suggested he has no injuries and there is no troubles between him and the team. This past week he moved out from under the roof of the admiral to allow for a place for the admirals mother and grandmother to stay. Reports indicate that this may have pushed Tdiscgreggy back to the scene of the crime. Tdisc support staff is working around the clock to get tdiscgreggy back under the guidance of the admiral as quickly as possible. Incase your new to the blog...early on Tdiscgreggy was known as the team's "loose cannon". Come back soon Captain.
Tommorow as you all know is Tuesday race day. We don't know what to expect other than it will be probably the fasted raceday in team history. The admiral has shown he can race with the best....he'll look to put a dent in to tdiscgreggy's lead in the points standings. You don't want to miss it!

Till next time,

Sunday after first race

I enjoyed my day yesterday but when I woke up today it was back to business as usual. Tdisc was on there own today....word has it the admiral went for an easy run to loosen up....Tdisckree took the day off but attended a fitness conference in moncton...he was learning more cutting edge training tips for tdisc...specifically in the pelvic area so he can help keep the admirals hernia in check during the season...and there is no word from the Captain. I went for a swim and a weights workout...it was really the first day where I was like "I think i'm becoming a triathlete". Tdisc has decided as of late to do a total swim of the race distance. Today I did 2000m. It felt great....like usual it was a struggle to get going but I continued to feel better as the swim went on. I'll admit I had a bit of the admiral in me today...about 1800m in I was preparing myself for a few cool down laps when I sensed the girl in the lane beside me kind of sizing me up for a race. So I pushed off for my cool down swim and during my first breath to the left I saw that we were neck and neck...the race was on. I upped my paced...I could feel myself cutting through the water with every stroke...at the 3/4 mark I had a full length on her...I was thinking to myself..."If I can pull off a perfect flip turn it'll deflate her"....sure enough bang smash I come off the wall quicker than I went in...first breath to the right she was no where's in sight....by the time I got to the wall and adjusted my goggles...pretending I wasn't racing and looked back she was doing the breast stroke at the halfway point....she had been T-disced.
Tommorow the team is back together...It will be nice to have the captain back. Tdiscgreggy took the weekend off to focus on hockey....congrats on the good run Tdiscgreggy. The schedule says we have a long swim in the morning. Should be good...I hope to get a statement from the admiral about his first race. Tuesday were back in racing mode with the ellediva 10k. Should be a great week. I hope i'm not sick this week....I had a sandwich at lunch that tasted great...then tdisckree just said "I think we should throw out this sandwich meat....It was packaged on mar.9". bahhhhhhhhh.

Tdisc gets a piece of the podium!

Todays race results: field of 74

Tdiscadmiral- 3rd Time 20:03
Tdisckree- 6th Time 20:22
Tdiscpye- 21st Time 22:32

Times to come.

Today I woke up quite early and had to get a bit of work done so I did that before preparing for the race. I arrived about a half an hour early...I caught myself doing a lot of pacing....then tdiscadmiral, tdisckree, and I went for a warmup jog. There was a lot of strategy talk going on throughout the warmup. So were questioning how the admiral would run today....I knew he wasn't there for fun when he said "I could drop dead in this race." Noticably absent from the race was our Captain Tdiscgreggy. We could have used a speech to calm the boys before the race.
We then proceeded to the starting line...that's when Tdisckree said "get up to the front boys". Then we started...there was a lot of jockying for position going on but we managed to come away in top 10. The pace was extremely quick starting out...I did my first 2 k in under 4 min./k. by the turn i was about 35 seconds behind tdk and the admiral....I continued my pace...my lungs began to demand air with about 1.5k to go...but I just kept telling myself..u can run farther than u think. My legs felt great but I didn't know how much I could push myself before puking. I was very tentative over the last k in fear of puking in front of people. Tdisckree couldn't hold on to a motivated admiral down the stretch and they cruised in 3rd and 6th.
Overall it was a great first race for the team. Everyone beat the times they had in mind. We can't wait for the next one. Thanks to all the people who were a part of putting the race on...Tdisc appreciates your hard work.
With the major goal in mind being this summers triathlon...Tdisckree and I went for a 50 minute bike ride. Today's race was a big day for tdisc....The admiral has solidified himself as one of the best. Tdisc has also shown that the supporting role is nothing to mess around with...Raceday photos posted at the bottem...more to come..enjoy!

Race Day preview

Tonight's blog is brought to you by: ellediva ....Have you got your Travel wipes clutches? "Where would I be on race day without my travel wipes clutch?" -TDK
Order yours today....Contact flickthis for more information.

The Race-Charlottetown Bluefin 5K Fun Run/Walk

Competitors: Tdiscadmiral (questionable)
Tdisckree
Tdiscpye(questionable)
Tdiscgreggy (out)

Injury Report: Tdiscadmiral (groins)
Tdisckree (calf)
Tdiscpye (foot)

Predictions:Tdiscadmiral- I feel at times I can be a strong runner, but I have difficulty pacingmyself . My teammates know I don't enjoy being the pace bunny. I'mgoing to really miss tdiscgreggy.I see all members of tdisc finishing in the top 30.
Tdisckree-I will expect the unexpected. This is my first running race ever so I don't really know what it'll be like. I will use the Admiral as a pace bunny off the start probably, but will have a backup plan cause he'll probably be looking to use me as a pacer. Either way, I expect tidiscpye, myself, and Admiral to leave out of the gate together for probably the first couple k. From there I don't know what will happen. Despite our team having high expectations for the up-coming season, I don't see use being on the podium at the end of the day. I do however expect the Admiral to put a scare into the top 10 and maybe finish somewhere between 8-10. For myself, I'd like to be in the top 1/3 of the competitors. A place in the top 25 would be a major moral victory because it is so early in the season and this may be my weakest discipline within the TRI.
Tdiscpye- I expect to be nervous out of the gate and have will have a quick decision to make early...kill myself and hang on to the boys or ease my way through my first race. There will be a lot of feeling out going on at the start but as soon as we get passed then it is do what u have to do to catch that person. I predict the admiral under 21 minutes...tdisckree under 22 minutes and me under 24 minutes. Not sure where that will put us. Tdiscgreggy-my predictions is at km 4.2 the admirals catches kree and it will be a sprint finish.

Comments

Tdiscadmiral-I have no idea what to expect this coming saturday. I havn't felt thatgreat the last couple of days since our weights workout on wednesday. Today might actually be the worst. It's a struggle to sit downsometimes (I hate lunges).I agree with tdisckree's statment when he said that the three of us willrun with each other to begin the race. After that "ROLL THE DICE" Ithink anything can happen. Something the fans don't know: "THIS IS A ONE TIME SHOT" There are going to be photos taken during the race. Since this is ourfirst race TDISC rookie cards can be purchased at the finish line. Therace committee has set up a special booth for us to sign autographs. Don't worry, tdiscgreggy's card can also be puchased. He ran a race 2weeks ago. Thanks for the support. Enjoy the race!
Tdisckree- I had pasta at East Sides today for lunch. I have felt good the pastfew weeks and will be aggressive heading into the race. However, I havebeen suffering from a sore left calve all week and haven't been able toshake it. It won't cause me to scratch now, but could be very soreduring and after the race. Something the fans don't know :This will be the first and last race for my Asics black runners. They've got me through 200 days of training and I will retire them afterthe race. I will be heading to Hasham's next week after I get paid. They will be retired and put in a glass case that will eventually be theTDISC memorobilia shrine. A pair of the Tdiscpye's yingfa's will alsobe retired and placed in the shrine as well as the Admiral's broken bikeseat from spin class, and a pair of greggy's goggles.
Tdiscgreggy-I am scratched from tomorrow’s race
Tdiscpye-- I am extremely nervous but at the same time extremely excited for tommorow's race...I kinda have that same feeling I had before I went to Japan. Fear of explosion may be enough to hold me back just to finish with a decent time.

Race numbers:Tdiscadmiral- 1
Tdisckree- 14
Tdiscpye-56

Spinning again!

Today we were back to spin class. It couldn't have felt better to get back on the bike and bag myself. Tdisct(w) put us through a great workout. It felt a little bit weird...for the first time I had to ride with the admiral behind me...It was a little intimidating to have the big gun breathing down your neck. After the spin class we went for about a 2 k run to loosen up...however the admiral opted out of the run due to soreness in his groins and immediatly began stretching. It leads us to believe that he is doing everything he can to be ready to go on saturday.

As you have heard being announced all week...there is a scheduled race for saturday. Tdisc has not officially announced who will race in it. Tommorow will be the first ever prerace show on the blog. It will discuss the race itself and there will be statements released from each member of the team. Will Tdisc scratch the admiral? What are the prerace projections?

I felt good today...my eating wasn't that great but I feel like i'm getting better. Tommorow is a off day for myself. Everyone else is on there own. I prefer to workout on sunday and get the extra day sleep in. This way I will also be rested for saturday. Starting to get a little nervous.

Over the hump!

It was great to get back to a team workout today...we had a great weights session, followed by a good swim workout. It was a really quiet day today following the blow up that happened yesterday.
Tonight while watching Tdiscgreggy's game the admiral and I discussed strategy for the RIR. We bonded well and it now looks as though we are heading in the right direction.
Friday will be a full race day preview. We will have intreviews with all the members of the team.
Tommorow we are back to spin class...I'm really looking forward to it. Rumour has it there may be another photo shoot coming.
Today's photoshoot is now posted in the right hand column...enjoy!

Tensions rise again

Last night while walking from room to room...I noticed that my foot was beginning to get sore. I hurt it doing a flip turn on sunday but I think my hockey skate flared it back up. So when the alarm went off this morning I got up to go to the bathroom and I could hardly walk on my foot....I think I could have battled through it but I also had a screaming headache so I decided to pull out of the morning race. When I woke up was extremely devastated that I had missed the race...that's when it all started....here's a timeline of the day.

At 9:20 am- This article was released to the guardian. " ADMIRAL BY A NOSE !"

Charlottetown :

Tdiscadmiral shook off two breakaway attacks by Tdisckree, and outlasted Tdiscgreggy to take raceday today. In what could be called another " one for the ages," In what started out as a tame race-day turned out deadly. At lap 29 Tdisckree made his first of two attacks. This was clearly to test the field as he was seen smiling lengthening some space between him and the competitors. The second attack came with 13 laps to go. This attack lasted about a lap and half before Tdiscgreggy caught and over-took him. The Admiral moved into second about a half a lap after. On lap 11 it looked as if Tdiskree would be dropped from the main field as he was about 5 length behind. Tdisckree caught back up behind Tdiscgreggy and forced the Admiral off the rail. The final 8 laps saw the three competitors fighting it out at top speed. Tdiscgreggy in the lead, Tdisckree in behind and The Admiral boxed out wide. The pace was torrid and actually broke record for the fastest final 4 k in an 8 k race. the average lap was 40 seconds. In the final 20 meters the Admiral and Greggy accelerated while Tdisckree feel out of it in third. Tdiscgreggy graciously gave the Admiral the win by a nose.

On a day that featured another great Tuesday race tensions arose on Red Island Relay Teams Tdisc1 and Tdisc2. After the race, Tdisckree voiced his disapproval of Tdiscgreggy letting up on the Admiral at the finish. He was quoted as saying " I played mind games with the Admiral all day, attacked him twice, and boxed him outside for the final 8 laps...jeez Greggy finish him next time." Sources indicate that captain Tdiscgreggy had a closed door meeting with Tdisckree after the outburst and was scolded for his outburst.

Tdisc2 was short-handed today. Tdiscpye was a late scratch from race-day. He had a sliced foot from a flip-turn accident. However, the Admiral was not happy with being left alone on a day where Tdisc1 clearly had a bounty on his head. Many are starting to speculate that Tdiscpye and Tdiscadmiral will both scratch from this weeks race. This camp is clearly in disarray. They have clearly spent too much time on vacation this month, and are having trouble finding the chemistry to match Tdisc1.

It is believed that all members of Tdisc will address the media today. Also, there is a news conference scheduled for tommorrow with some news on Tdisc. It is speculated that they will address expansion and other matters surrounding the team.

Don Morrison

At 12:23 This article appeared on cnn.com

Shocked and Disappointed. That was the way the race day started today, with no warning Tdiscpye was a scratch today to the surprise of on lookers. Tdsickree tried to explain why, but Jim Day from the Guardian was not buying it. He was quoted as “if he can walk he can run” This got everyone in a frenzy, it threw off the Admiral who is getting worried about tdisc2. He talked of a getaway for just the two of them to get the connection that TDK and TDG have so quickly formed. Tdisc1 has grown closer and has already started creating mind games on race day, with many more to come.

Saturdays race will be lucky to feature more than just T.Discgreggy and tdisckree, they told Jim today. T.Disc has started to separate into two teams because of the thoughts of Red Isle, thank god school was cancelled or the admiral would have burnt out his new sneakers with anger.

At 12:43 BHM released my statement:

Boys it sucks missing race day! I just went to the cupboard and pulled out the biggest plate and filled it with chinese food...friggen food addiction. I woke up this morning and couldn't walk to the bathroom without walking on my left heal...I think I could have ran through that..but for whatever reason I woke up feeling like I had a dozen shots of Japanese saki the night before. The combination was enough to overpower my dedication to my team. I appoligize for the late scratch. Yesterday I was cruising down the mountain...now it feels like i'm at the bottem of mount fugi and the red isle is at the top. As for tdisc2...I think i'm bringing my teamate down...it may be in the best interest of the admiral to look for a new teamate...maybe affiliate TT(w). I will keep pushing on but the realization is beginning to set in that I may not have what it takes to compete. Congrats on the win admiral! Good luck tonight greggy!

At 1:00pm The captain unleashes on the team via BHM

Enough is enough, TT(W) is not stepping in for anyone. Pye put that plate away, kree throw all the big plates out, use only small plates just like the article said yesterday. You are not bringing your teammate down he is bringing you up. NOW stop looking for excuses and meet him half way! TDISC is on day 198 and you are going to quit now, I said this 98 days ago, it is not a option anymore. Think how much joy and fun T.Disc has not only given the big four but all those out there that contributed to the over 2500 hits. NO MORE BULL**** EXCUSES ABOUT EATING OR INJURIES, WE ARE IN THIS TOGETHER SO IT IS ALL OF US OR NONE OF US.

T.Disc is not about negativity, it is about overcoming every obstacle, so get back on the T.Disc train and keep chugging!

TT(W) was a major part in the discovery of T.disc, and has a major impact on the Alderwood camp. She pushes the admiral and greggy when it is needed, so she will remain a member of the T.DiscT(w) until there is no longer interest.

Captain T.discgreggy

At 1:04 pm Team affiliate and backed by the captain...Tdisct(w) sends out a statement via BHMW
WHOA, WHOA, WHOA. It's time for the Admiral and TdiscPye to rekindletheir romance. The combination of the Admiral and TdiscT(W) in thecanoe would undoubtedly end in divorce. TDP, you need to understand howmuch the Admiral is looking forward to your combination. He is countingon you and informed me last night that he will be turning off the heattoday so the can pay for his new helmet. TDG is already forced to sleepwith 4 duvet's every night, but he doesn't care. I was absent this morning because I was up half the night trying to fixthe blinds so the admiral could sleep in perfect darkness. The bottomfold of the blind kept allowing some moonlight into our room and hewasn't having it. He wanted his sleep for race day and was quoted assaying 'I know they can be shut tighter.' I then woke up with a cold asa result of sleep deprivation. I don't mind however, because I know theRIR is going to be the most hilarious ...I mean exciting.. event of thesummer to watch.

At 1:41 p.m Tdisct(w) sends out a statement via theguardian.pe.caI've said this before, you guys are more dramatic then a group of junior high girls in the guidance counselor's office. I think you need a Tdisc retreat. A no training weekend where you can sit back and talk girl talk, get manicures and eat chocolate. Get it all out. All of you. You've been through worse. I've been through much worse, I had to live with the admiral when he had a hernia and thought he was going to retire. I had to wear catcher's gear around the house because he was flying around like a mad man.

At 1:51 p.m BHM recieves and publishes a Rare statement from the ADMIRAL

It's all speculation!! There are absolutely no problems on the tdisc2 front. All systems are still a go. It's guys like Don Morrison, Fred the Fiddler, Jim Day and even Bruce Rainy who like to blow things out of proportion. I have complete confidence in my partner and his ability to get things done on race day. Because of today's events and the media outburst surrounding Tdisc, Tdisc2 has decided not to talk to media and possibly may be pulling themselves out of the race on Saturday. There will be further discussion between the admiral and TDP and a statement will be made later on during the week.

At 3:28 p.m Tdisckree via BHM released an injury report.Injury Report.

At3:30 BHM/BHMW announces a press conference for 5 p.m

At 4:00pm BHM/BHMW announces the cancelation of the press conference Stating that Tdisc has put a no speaking clause on all team members until thursday.

What a day....I have gotten my workouts in and will be prepared to go in the morning. Also...that's to those who wished me happy birthday via the blog and those who commented. Photo's will be coming soon...Tdiscadmiral in yingfa's...good luck!

The admiral returns

It was great to have the admiral back in the lineup today. It is the first time the admiral and I have worked out together since the end of feb. Today we allowed ourselves a little extra sleep in time by setting the swim start time at 7am. Honestly though...when I woke up it was like I had just gone to sleep...I was so tired. With quiting not an option...I arose from the bed and began getting ready for the day. It was a struggle at the start of the swim but it increasingly got better. I wanted to through out the quit card about 3 times in the first 15 minutes. It's really crazy how quickly your thoughts can change to pure negativity...It must be the chlorine. We swam about 1500 meters today doing some cardio and some drills. It lasted for about 1 hour. Tdiscgreggy had a late night in Tignish so he opted to workout at a later time. It was great to have the admiral back swimming...It really pushes ya when you see someone trying to race ya down the pool. Tdisckree and I both thought he was going to kill himself trying to race the guy who jumped in the pool when he was finishing.
I just finished work and am a little bit tired but with this being the season of the triathlon I will have a quick power nap and then go for a 1hour bike ride before hockey practice. An encouraging email was sent to me today by one of my teamates. It was an article...and the title was: 6 ways to ease food addiction. Just what the doctor ordered. Number 6 read: Don't return to the scene of the crime. So it gives me all the more reason to leave the computer room that is right beside the kitchen and head to the gym. If anyone else is battling a food addiction than I'd be more than happy to pass along the article.
Tommorow is Race day...It will have a field of at least 4. When drawing out tommorow's 10k route someone suggested that we stay away from traffic because it is expected that 3 of the big 4 will make the admiral go 4 wide in order to get to the front. Should be a dandy!
An honorable mention goes out to Tdisckree...on the weekend we went to go swimming and he forgot his towel...so instead of packing it in he went bare yingfa(which is as close as u can get to bare naked). One quote that sums up the look of a yingfa..."It just looks like black body paint."
Also I have posted a new fan poll in the right hand column. Please be sure to vote...

Big week ahead.

Today's a big day in the life of Tdiscpye...I turned 26. In a lot of my birthday emails and whatnot, Tdisc was heavily mentioned. Everyone identified this year as a big year for me....and it is. Come next year when I turn 27 I will have....done the red island relay, completed my first triathlon...and maybe a couple more...and finished my first international event....MIT. I'm really looking forward to year 26.
Today is usually a rest day but Tdisckree and I opted to take friday off instead so today we went for a 1 hour swim. The swim was going great until I flipped down to low and banged my foot of the ledge on the wall. I came up kicking but I know I was injured. I'm day to day with the injury but it is expected i'll be ready to go tommorow.
Tommorow we have scheduled a 1 hour swim in the morning and a 1 hour bike ride in the evening. Should be a statement week for tdisc.
Saturday will be Tdisc's first sanctioned race. So far the list of confirmed is Tdiscgreggy, Tdisckree, and I. Tdiscadmiral has been given till thursday to release a statement. Rumour has it that Tdisc is going to scratch the admiral in fears of a of him getting an injury. Lance armsrtong doesn't race in the early races either. Friday will be a race day profile...should be a blog not to miss.
Alright...it's getting close to my bedtime and Desperate housewives is on....holy frig mike's gf just got shot!

What a week!

I just arrived home from breakfast at cora's...holy cow it was good and well deserved. Today's workout was a major statement sent out by Tdisc addressed to the world. We began with a 40 min. bagger on the bike followed by a 10 run(it'd be injustice to say it was a jog). It was extremely tough...about 3k in to the run I was quoted as saying "I'm frigged". I battled the whole run and thanks to my teamates I ran a good run today. I read a book about running not to long ago and it said...."for males something will get a lot colder than the rest of your body"...I now totally understand...I was ready to shut things down about 3k in but instead I ran with a cold hand which spared me from a little extra pain. Once I hit the halfway point I began to feel better...I found stride and was holding on to the back of the team. The paced really picked up about 7k making our last 5k faster than our first 5k. I held on as long as I could to Tdisckree and Tdiscgreggy but with about 1k to go I dropped back. We finished on a tough incline...at one point I was like why the frig do I put myself through this...1 min. later as I was finishing the run I was thinking....man I love this! It's weird but I was in pain and loved every minute of it. Tdisckree was quoted after the race saying..."I was hoping that I wasn't going to puke in front of people." Another quote was..."wow...if people saw us today they'd think were crazy."

It felt great after...we had a major runners high. We had a lengthy stretch session than proceeded to go to cora's. Breakfast was awesome...but now it is hitting me...I'm extremely tired and ready to hit the couch for a snooze.

We look forward to having the admiral back in the lineup come the first of the week. Could be a statement week for the team...I look forward to getting back in the pool tommorow. 12 hours this week...it's going to be tough...but it's now the year of the triathlon..."Shock and awe".

I appologize

Tdisckree came home and said he was going to read the blog...when I informed him that I didn't because it was an off day. He was not happy and had this to say. "There is people out there expecting a blog tonight. It's a privaledge to be able to write on the blog." So from the bottem of my heart I am sorry for the late blog.
The team had an off day going in to the weekend. Tdiscgreggy went for 1500 metres of swimming. Tommorow we go for a long one with a 40 min bike followed by a 10k run...then the highlight of the week breakfast at cora's.
With the off day coming today...sunday will be a day of swimming for tdisckree and I and then right back into the swing of things on monday. Starting monday Tdisc will look to put in 12 hours of training a week. It's the year of the triathlon.

No spin...No problem!

With T(w) and the admiral being away...spin was cancelled and we were on our own for this week. Tdisc never missed a beat arriving to the TTF nearly on time for an individual bike workout. Tdiscgreggy road in the gym upstairs for 30min while Tdisckree and I road on the indoor trainers for 30min. After we finished, we flagged down the captain and 3 of the big 4 marched to the beat around the track. It wasn't the usual slow paced run that follows a spin class...it was a very up tempo 5k run...with an absolute sprint for the last k. It felt great...I couldn't have asked for a better workout. Tdisc then finished it off with a short handed high five session.

With a tough workout scheduled for Saturday, we have decided to go on our own for tommorow's swim. It is expected that each member does at least 1500m of swimming before saturday's 40min bike and 10k run. The big highlight on the schedule is the breakfast at cora's scheduled for 11:30 on saturday.

In the next week I will be posting yet another profile of a Tdisc member and I will also be putting up a new fan poll.

Word out of minnesota is that the admiral and T(w)are having a relaxing vacation...Tdisc finds that hard to believe...we train with him all the time....relaxing is something we've never seen out of the admiral. We look forward to the admiral's return as we kick it in to gear in preparation for the '09 season. "shock and awe"

Tdisc is a lifestyle

Today was just another day in the life of a Tdisc member. I woke up in great time...arrived at the TTF ready to go through a tough weights circuit and then a swim. Hump day is always a tough day...i'm getting a little bit more tired...and it's always a bit more low key. Today's workout went like clockwork...not a lot of talking just all business going through the circuit. We arrived at the pool to find closed signs on all of the lanes. Uh oh....it's closed...no swim today. Instead we looked at it a different way..."That's nice of them to close the lanes for Tdisc so we could have a private swim today." So we proceeded to the water.
Some people are totally baffled at why we would do something like this. Then they ask about 100 questions. I don't really talk about competition...I talk about it being a lifestyle. Tdisc has and will change lives. Take for example our Captain...Tdiscgreggy. In the early weeks we had him pegged as a loose cannon, who might not be able to hack it every morning. Well in a short documentary released earlier this week...Tdiscgreggy had this to say. "I am not sure when this happened but this training has slowly matured me as a person and has completely changed my way of life. A hundred days ago, If someone told me I would skip drinking on St Patty’s day because I wanted to get a good sleep for training the next day I would have laughed in their face. A hundred days ago I would have taken a day off for partying, or at least if I had a day off I would be out on the town rocking the bar scene. These days I take my days off when I need rest from training or I have a big training day coming up.I started with T.Disc a week or so after the other three, and enjoyed the training but it seemed like a impossible goal to continue training this hard every day. Not only have I overcome those negative thoughts but I have set larger goals than I ever thought. My favorite thing to do right now is train with T.Disc, and that makes me happy which makes me train harder. Thanks T.Disc"
When asked to comment on tdiscgreggy's statement...tdisckree had this to say. "I agree Greggy that Tdisc is life-changing. I feel that I am once again becoming a focused competitor. My early morning wake-ups are evident of this change. Here is a run-down of how my thought processes have changed when I wake up."
September - " I can't believe I'm up this early...no way this will last."
October - "I friggin hate this and really want to quit.
November - " Is this ever going to get easier? I hate this."
December - " What excuse can I give the boys so I can sleep in?"
January - " It's the year of the triathlon...Can't skip workies now."
February - " We're in it for the long haul... can't quit so no sense thinking about it."
March - " If I don't get up, some sucker is gonna make up ground on me."
Today - " I need to make up ground on Admiral this week while he's away..."
April - " It's on...Tdisc is ready to break loose and I'm lovin it !"
Tdisckree - "keep on keepin on."

A special thanks to the anonymous blog reader who said that they are glad to have me back...and to answer your question...yes, another photo shoot will be scheduled for when the admiral comes back. A photo of tdisc in the yingfa's probably won't happen due to the possibly of it being used as blackmail.

Look forward to tommorow...slowly getting back into the groove.

Relaxing Race Day

I was nervous going into today's race. It was my first race day in 3 weeks. I didn't feel good in my last 2 runs and all I heard about the past 2 race days was that it was extremely fast. I woke before my alarm but laid there until it started beeping like a mad man...than I got up. Like usual I started preparing my oatmeal and then put it in the microwave then hit up facebook. When I came back to get the oatmeal I was devasted to see that I had put too much water in and had to eat real soupy oatmeal. Not a good way to start the morning. I left in good time....caught the news about the cornwall roadhouse. I arrived at the TTF about the same time as tdisckree....we both looked at each other and thought the same thing....there was no way Tdiscgreggy was going to be on time without the admiral. Sure enough 5 minutes later Tdiscgreggy comes strolling in..."boys it's tough to get up without the admiral" said Tdiscgreggy. Tdisckree and I began our warm up laps...a short time later Tdiscgreggy joined in. At about lap 30 I realized that race day wasn't going to be so bad...everyone was content to just run in a group. It stayed that way until about lap 45 when the suggestion was made to quicken the pace for the last 5 laps....next thing I knew it was an all out sprint. I was very happy with the way I ran today...I didn't have the kick at the end but I felt comfortable throughout the whole run. There was a lot of talking today during the run. The major topics were...greggy's race, The admiral and T(w), expansion, the blog, tdisckree's wedding, and our love for Tdisc. We all agreed that we have the admiral to thank for us being so punctual in the mornings. Without him we wouldn't have stuck to the morning workouts. The fear of getting slapped got us up most mornings.
An email was sent by one of the team members saying "I hate work, I wish I could just train with Tdisc all day." Shortly there after a reply was sent by one of the other team members. It read:boys work is a means to an end...

I felt good during my workout this morning...however I'm dissappointed that I let my food addiction get the best of me today. Tomorrow is the day I get it all together. Weights and swim is on the schedule for tommorow.

Breaking News

" TDISCKREE CONFIRMS FOR MARCH 28 TUNE-UP."

Charlottetown : Just when media and followers of Tdisc were in a quiet spell, things have suddenly livened up. Tdisckree has announced that he will begin his season earlier then expected. In recent weeks he has made it known that he is not approaching this season as a typical rookie, and will look to make waves early in his triathlon career. In a statement he said " The last couple weeks of training have been pretty good for me. I've got my bowels under control, and emotionally I'm much stronger in my training sessions. Going with an earlier then expected tune-up will allow me more time in between to make adjustments for the Red Island in late May."
Tdisckree however did say that he would pull out if the weather was still cold. It is no secret that tdisckree dislikes running in cold weather and won't risk injury due to unfavourable conditions.
The rest of Tdisc is staying tight lipped for the most part on whether they will enter. It is widely expected that Tdiscgreggy will enter the race. Being the lightest and most natural runner tdiscgreggy can handle a heavier race load then his soggier/older teammates. Tdiscadmiral probably won't be able to keep out of action much longer and will probably reluctantly throw his name into the mix. Tdiscpye is never swayed by anyone or anything. He will make up his own mind when he feels like it. You never know with him, and his statement will more than likely come via the blog.

Big week ahead

Today I woke up early...around 4am this morning. However I was able to stay in bed till 6. I felt great going to the TTF. Again I felt terrible during my workout but I battled my way through it. Todays workout was summed up on Tsn.ca.

"Tdisc sputters into Monday"
Once again Tdisc worked out with a reduced team on hand. Tdisckree and Tdiscpye arrived early on Monday morning at TTF. Believe it or not they both arrived prior to 640 which was surprising considering there was no pressure of getting their on time (The Admiral is away this week.) Tdiscgreggy was absent at TTF this morning. Tdiscpye was quick to come to the rescue of his captain and told media "Greggy had a late night coaching in Tignish on sunday night and I told him to use his best interest in the morning." Media members however, were looking to stir up doubt within the Tdisc camp. One reporter questioned " Do you think Greggy can do it without the Admiral breathing down his neck ?" Another said " There's no way Tdiscgreggy can wake without the smell of burnt english muffins." Tdisckree and Tdiscpye didn't entertain such comments and went about their workout completing a tough 30 minutes on the stationary trainers before completing a 30 minute pool workout. Things were quiet around the pool today.Tommorrow will be a scaled down version of raceday. Tdiscpye is still slowly getting back into running form and the pace will not be the same without the Admiral in the mix. Tdiscgreggy has not made any statements and the Admiral cannot be reached. He doesn't own a cell phone.

"Get on the Treadmill right now"

That was what Tdisckree said to me while I was sitting on the couch telling him I just don't think I have it in me anymore.
I woke up today at 5am...still messed up from the time change. So I layed in bed for awhile, knowing there was nothing to do at that time of the morning. 7:45 still lying in bed...now with a screaming headache. So I get up and pop a couple of tylenol and get ready for the day...hoping that it would be the day I get back on track. I had a scheduled time of 1pm to go workout...instead...not feeling well I hit the couch for a good afternoon sleep. 5pm Tdisckree calls and asks if I have worked out yet...I reply..."No, I don't think i'm going to today....might start up tommorow". That's when Tdisckree let me have it "you have to get back on the wheel...the admiral is going to kill you." At 7 pm i'm still sitting on the couch with tdisckree beside me, this time really contemplating retirement. I was really expressing my thoughts of retirement to tdisckree when he said "give me the phone...I'm calling Captain Tdiscgreggy." "No!Don't call greggy" I replied. He still called but luckily there was no answer. That is when he turned to me and said "Your not pulling this team down...Get on that treadmill right now and i'm staying here until your done." I eventually forced myself onto the treadmill and went for a jog. I felt horrible...but continued on....being pushed by the thoughts of the upcoming season.
Expansion has been a hot topic with Tdisc since we were formed back in september. But if, when, or how will it happen is yet to be determined. Tdisc is very open to a woman's tdisc team and we have also had some interest from 2 males that we will take very seriously. Please let us know your thoughts by emailing us at macphee11@hotmail.com.
Does anyone know what will have happened 1 year from today. Ya, that's right...Tdisc will have completed the Miami International Triathlon. It could be the day that Tdiscadmiral shocks the world.
Once again congratulations to our Captain...Tdiscgreggy on his 12th place finish at the St. Patrick's day 5k race held in Charlottetown on the weekend. He ran it in a time of 20:48.
This has to be a week where I make a major statement to the team. I've been off for 2 weeks and have struggled in the first few days back. Thought of Mit and the upcoming season may be enough to keep me going forward. This week will hopefully be filled with 2 a days with a mini try on sat. Should be a good week.

Separated Saturday

It was my first day of training since the first of march when I left for Japan. It really felt like I hadn't worked out in 2 weeks. My goal was a half an hour of running....I accomplished that but....not before a few pit stops. It was a real cleanser of a run. I started out with shin splints about a km in then it led to tight hip flexors and then my stomach turned. Although I felt really poor...it was great to get back to training...I feel much better tonight and I hope to feel a bit better tommorow.
Tdisckree and Tdiscadmiral opted to run 10k outside and then Tdiscadmiral followed it up with a swim. Tdiscadmiral is leaving today for a one week vacation in Minnesota. We wish him all the best this week and hope he gets well rested. If anyone deserves a rest on this team it's the admiral. Have a good trip admiral!
As most of u have heard...there was a 5k race for easter seals in charlottetown today. Tdisc decided to send it's captain...Tdiscgreggy. Tdiscgreggy ran a strong race finishing in a time of 20min40sec. Congratulations Captain Tdiscgreggy! I haven't had a chance to get all the details but I'm sure I will find out more in the days to come.
Today while making a my weekly stroll through the market I ran in to a few Tdisc fans. It's always great to stop and answer questions about Tdisc. I'd just like to give a shout out to the Peters sisters....Tdisc appreciates each and every one of our fans.
In a way of getting myself back into training shape...I will not opt for a sunday off day...I have a light bike and a swim planned for tommorow. I'm happy to be back around the team again...hopefully I can be back into training shape shortly.

till next time,

Home Sweet Home

I arrived on the island at noon on friday. I felt good to get back home...especially after the long day of traveling. I didn't cope with my jetlag very well...I hit couch at 2 and slept till 11 now i'm wide awake at midnight.
When I arrived home I immediatly shifted focus from my trip to Tdisc. My main goal for the next few months is to get myself ready for may 31. My diet and training took a major beating but starting tommorow...all that changes. The next week could possibly be the toughest week of my training since I started. Being mentally fragile doesn't help...but having a strong team does. I look forward to tommorow...where the journey to MIT'10 continues....
Today's workout consisted of 2 of the big 4 members. When asked about today workout Captain Tdiscgreggy had this to say."T.Disc was short handed but took things to the next level today! The last two of the big four did not have their ying fas for 8 hours before they were on and in the pool. There was a comment made from loyal morning swimmer that it was the fastest lap the Admiral ever swam. Another on looker noticed that when the Admiral and Captain greggy walked into the CARI pool with towels over the shoulder, even the swim classes stopped for a moment to get the first peak of these two physical specimens.
“It felt great, it was like I was swimming in the nude.” Greggy
“It was so comfortable I feel nothing can hold me back now, Watch out freddy beach” Admiral
With a 25 minute hard bike, followed by a nice half hour swim. The Admiral and T.Discgreggy had a great Friday workout. Last night the admiral was not impressed with the size of the Ying Fas, and was convinced they were a youth. (which could very much be true) And called TDK and said he quit the triathlon. I was not expecting him to be eager to get them on, but I was 30 seconds behind him to the change room and he already had them on in the change room doing some warm up squats without a shirt on, followed by push ups. When I questioned this activity he said “got to looked jacked in the Ying Fas”. But what really surprised me was when there was no towel around the waist like TDK but just over the shoulder as he led us out to the pool. It reminded me of a hat I used to wear in grade 6 that read “NO FEAR” It was a great workout even though we were short handed.
Happy Friday and can’t wait for tomorrow.
Tdiscgreggy

P.S. Welcome back T.Discpye!"

I'm not sure what tommorow is going to bring. Look forward to finding out though....

Still in Japan

The blog has taken a hit the last few days....i've been getting in late and getting up early so I haven't really had time to blog. My trip is still going well...the past few days i've been in Hiroshima, kobe, osaka, and tokyo. The atomic bomb memorial was something to see. There was so much info that I never knew of before.
When training with tdisc you gain a bit of a physique...i'm still waiting on mine...but in Japan some people can't believe how thick I am. The past 3 days I have had people ask if they could touch me..haha...ya it's pretty awkward. One business I went to the president had his wife come over and touch me...I swear! Then at a restaurant the waitress and the owner pretty much had my jacket off...it was getting out of control. I'm really not the touchy feely type so I could feel myself getting red everytime. There quite polite about it....
As for the other big 3....everything seems to be going smooth....I've recieved a few emails talking about how tdisc is really taking training to new levels. I'm excited to get back and join my team.
There is a race on saturday...not sure if tdisc will enter or not...rumour has it that we may send our Captain...tdiscgreggy. That has not been finalized.
Tommorow I begin my journey home....

Slow couple of days

Not much news in the Tdisc camp. Things seem to be rolling along without me. Coming into this trip I thought I was going to lose weight in Japan. I think it has been the oposite....all I do is eat and tour. The food hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be....I'm actually getting quite used to it. I'm really enjoying my trip....today Kosaku and his family took us around there hometown of Nara. It was really cool....we saw the biggest wooden building in the world....it is a huge temple. It is great to tour around with japanese people because you really get to experience the Japanese lifestyle. Translating also helps greatly...considering my vocabulary is like 12 words. Tommorow we go to hiroshima where we will have a meeting and then go for a tour of the war memorial where the atomic bomb site is. Kosaku is driving us down so we will see a lot of the country on the way.

The only downfall to this is that I know I am falling behind in my training. The meltdown alert will be orange when I get back.

Oh ya...there was a 3.8 earthquake in Osaka.

Just another friday

I woke up this morning in Osaka. Our hotel is great...it is right in the city so we can walk around and the breakfast this morning had eggs and toast...man it was good. Yesterday we stopped in Nygato for a meeting with Ohta oil co. ...it was quite an experience...they took us out to eat a fancy restaurant. Not wanting to be rude I ate everything....shark tale soup, crab, jellyfish, and some other stuff that I didn't even ask what it was. Last night was really fun....were in a very lively part of Osaka...I saw a lot in a short period of time. I found it a quite a bit different than tokyo. Today we are on our own to walk around and do whatever we want. I think we are going to go to osaka castle and doing some shopping and stuff.

In the wake up Captain Tdiscgreggy's spin class absense....the media arrived at the TTF in groves. Much to there surprise...Tdisc spoke.

Tdisckree while stretching in the usual spot had this to say. "Good week tdiscc ! Looking forward to getting tdiscpye back next week.Real hard workout today boys but a good one. I was chatting with Greggy today on the way out and it feels like tdisc is unbalanced when tdiscpye isn't in the lineup. For example, on the run the wind is different and it forces us to run in a triangle as opposed to a line or square. In the front row of spin...it feels awkward without a complete row. In the pool, the drag and wakes are different. It'll be good to have pye back. I find it is also taking its toll on the Admiral because he's the only one from Tdisc2 (RIR Team) and me and Greggy are making runs at him all the time. All in all...good week boys. We're gonna step it up next week again. It's what we do. We are becoming triathletes. On another note, Tdiscpye could you clear up a story on the blog. You spoke of an incident where Admiral was chasing Tdisckree and trying to snap his Ying Fa's . There was no such incident, and it is believed tdisctw told the media that to stir something up. It is just another example of her trying to get between the Admiral and the big four. Due to this occurance, She will be suspended from interviews, and other media correspondances. "

I wasn't shocked to see Tdisckree had spoken as when I reading the journal pioneer online and stumbled across this article.
ADMIRAL LETS HIS GUARD DOWN

Today at the TTF outsiders have speculated that there were sightings ofthe admiral keeled over in the change room. Is this true? In a rare occurance the media were able to get a short statement fromthe admiral.
"Yes this is true, I didn't even realize that I was doing it. Hopefully it doesn't happen agian. The sprints took alot out of metoday. I think it might of been from spin the day before. I justneeded some time to refocus and concentrate on having a good swim. Iwas able to accomplish that". Sources have suggested that the admiral is starting to feel the burdenof not having having his partner their. Tdisc Pye is not schedueld backuntil next thursday.

Alright i'm heading out now.....time to go find out what this public bath on the 12th floor is all about.

Only 85 days to go

I woke up early this morning like usual...for some reason I wake up at 5:30 every morning. It's good for emailing and stuff though. As I checked my emails today...I recieved one telling me that there is only 85 days till the relay. Holy cow.....I'm really going to have to really put the hammer down when I get home. I thought I wouldn't gain weight when I came over here...but I think I am off all this fricken sticky rice.
Today I went to the big foodex show.....25,000 people go through it a day. I went to the canada area once every hour, because cavendish foods had sweet potato fries going, and 2 bite brownie had like a whack of great stuff. We then went to a party put on by the Canadian Embassy. Like I told one of the guys with me...."I just don't belong here." It had all you can eat and drink of Canada products. Today we leave for Osaka...We are going by train...it takes about 2 hours.

Reports indicate that something just isn't right with Tdisc. Today an article was in the guardian concerning Tdisc.
The Guardian"
NO CAPTAIN, NO PYE, NO PROBLEMS?"
Charlottetown - Today's TDISC spin class was closed to the media and public, which in itself suggested that something was up. None of the big 4 addressed the media, and Blue HEron Management did not release any statements. However, the local media were searching frantically for some news. Just as the media throng were leaving the CARI facility they noticed an image that just didn't look right. Looking through the glass window into the gym they noticed something odd about the front row of spin class. Tdisckree and Admiral were in the usual front left bikes. The third bike (usually belonging to Tdiscgreggy was noticably vacant.) and the fourth bike (usually Tdiscpyes bike) was filled by Bob Gray. This sent fans and media into a frenzy. Questions that came up were : Where was tdiscgreggy ? Is he gone to Japan to finish the deal with Yingfa swimwear with tdiscpye ? Is he hurt ? Is he ill ? Tdiscgreggy as well as other Tdiscmembers have not responded to media requests. Friday may reveal more on this.
A disgruntled Don Morrison.

Although Tdisc seems to be in trouble they are not showing it. Yesterday T(w) told me that the admiral chased TDK around the locker room trying to snap his ying fa's. TDK was terrified. The admiral cackled for 45 minutes after. Weird. When asked about todays she said "It was a good solid effort had by all today (who showed). "

I'm really struggling with the blog....Were gone all day and then get back late and up early....8 more days and the blog should be back to normal. Off to Osaka.

Tdisc breezes through hump day!

All my days in Japan start of with blogging, followed by getting ready and then I go for breakfast. It is kind of funny...I thought I was getting smaller but I guess not...when I go through the line at breakfast everyone gets 1 roll but when I get through she always looks at me and gives me 2. haha. Yesterday was a lot of sightseeing...we went to the tokyo tower, some kind of marketplace, a boat cruise, and to the foodex. Today we are going back to the foodex. Should be pretty cool...I think there is a cavendish farms booth there...who knows I may know someone. I'm starting to catch a few words and I can now kind of navigate myself around the subways. I've also learned that u never go up or down the right side of the escalator unless u are running or prepare to get pasted from behind. Also when you leave the hotel u hand back your key and when your return without saying anything they hand it back to u. I've ate a lot of different foods but today I broke down and bought a crispy cream donut. Holy cow it was good.

I recieved an email from Tdisckree today....here is what it said:

Recap of TDISC Session on Wednesday. To be submitted to the author of the blog.

workout members - Tdisckree, Tdiscgreggy, Tdisadmiral.

Workout started on time. Admiral and Greggy were biting at the bit when I got there at 641. Greggy is really getting punctual. It's very impressive. Apparently, tdisctw was a little bit annoying at home prior to the workout. Admiral was really thrown off by it though...he just said "she had all the lights on in the house and was testing out songs on the ipod."We did a warm-up on ladders and then did a weights workout. It was actually really hard.We got the pool in good time. Admiral's id number worked at the front desk and that made him happy. We pretty much went on our own. We did a lot of drills today. i didn't feel particularily good in the water today and Admiral was quoted as saying " I'm just not feeling it today." One thing of note...there was a lesson going on next to us and the Admiral didn't seem too spooked by it. I think this is another sign that we are become more complete triathletes mentally and physically. Pretty quiet day for Tdisc but another routine day means that we just might be becoming triathletes. There could be bigtime trouble in spin tommorrow. Apparently, rumour has been going around that Bob Gray is going to take one of the big fours bikes tommorrow in the front row. All reports indicate taht he will go after the Admirals'. We'll see how this plays out.

Off to get ready....

Tdiscgreggy does it again!

Yesterday was a very full day for me. I was up very early due to my sleep being all out of whack. Before leaving we went for a continental breakfast at the hotel. I actually had a really big feed. I had a lot of salami pieces, rolls, fruit, and I even went with some more sticky rice. After that we began our journey into tokyo. On the agenda was 2 meetings with major airlines and an awards ceremony and meal put on by a company called Oisix. The meetings were very interesting...there was a lot of bowing, a lot of business card exchanging, and a lot of cold grean tea. The first meeting there was a lot of english so It was really easy to follow...the second....by times was like..."hi hi hi....so so so.....mmmmmmmm....hi hi hi....so so so....mmmmmm." The people were extremely friendly. For lunch we had a hot dogs and coffee....the hot dogs had a really tough skin but were quite tasty. For supper we had noodles and pork in a bowl of hot water with sticky rice. It was really good....everyone slurpes there noodles....holy cow my lips got a scorching. Again cold green tea was served...this time I had to go with just regular water. The farmers awards was something else. It was like 300 japanese people and us. I'm sure everyone was wondering what in the world we were doing there. We also had a meal of just a bunch of foods that the company sells. They pulled Raymond up to speak at the end.....that was extremely funny....I was glued to the back.
Ok....on to race day.

" ONE FOR THE AGES - Tdiscgreggy outlasts Admiral, Kree in epic battle."On a day that has too many times become a day of scandal, frustration, controversy, mind-games, and freak-outs...today fans and media witnessed a high quality running race. With Tdiscpye in Tokyo, Tdisctw joined the other three members for the traditional race day. With school being delayed an hour, and with a very relaxed atmospher pre-race many felt today would simply be a "walk in the park." Wow were they wrong ! It took all 44 and 3/4 laps (7 and 2/3 kilometers) for Tdiscgreggy to break free for the Win. Congrats goes out to Tdiscgreggy for the win, and many say it was his finest tactical race yet. Here is a lap breakdown of the race.

Lap 1 - Admiral leads out of the gate followed by tdistw, kree, greggy.
Lap 3 - Tdisctw goes to the front, Admiral falls in behind, kree and gregg still bring up the rear.
Lap 5 - Admiral mutters something under his breathe and over-takes tdisctw, kree and greggy stay back.
Lap 16 - Tdisctw fakes a breakaway on Admiral and starts to laugh and mock him, kree and greggy still behind chuckle.
Lap 22 - Tdisctw tries a real breakaway but is matched by Admiral step for step, (tdisctw is now visibly getting under the skin of Admiral and he mutters something under his breathe again."Lap 25 - Admiral admits that he "hates having to pace" and falls off the lead - Tdisckree goes to the front with tdisctw in behind, Greggy and Admiral in the back.
Lap 27-32 - Tdisctw is breathing very heavy...Admiral and Greggy ask if she's ok. she has her ipod in and can't hear them.
Lap 34 - Tdisckree opens up a lead of about 15 body lengths, Admiral and Greggy move past tdisctw and begin pursuit of tdiskree.
Lap 36 - Tdiscgreggy overtakes Tdisckree and quickens the pace..Admiral stays tight of Greggies right shoulder, and Tdisckree stays snug to Greggies left shoulder.
Lap 40 - Tdiscgreggy drops the hammer again but Kree stays of left shoulder and Admiral off right shoulder. ( If Greggy would have stopped we would've had a pile up we were so close together.)
Lap 44 - (The Bell Lap) Greggy quickens even more but Admiral and Kree hold their positions.
Lap 44 - 3/4 - Greggy comes out of final turn hot....drops Admiral and kree - Greggy holds on for win. Admiral moves past Kree, but Kree responds.....Admiral and Kree sprint to the finish and both declare that they got second. (As they cross the line tdisctw remarks " you guys are insane.")
Final Standings
1. Tdisgreggy
2. Tdiscadmiral - Tdisckree
3. Tdisctw

RACE DAY RECAP- Through the eyes of Captain Tdiscgreggy
I got home from hockey last night and proceeded to lay on the couchsince I am suffering from a head cold. It was not long before tdisct(w)said are you going to bed? Its race day! I said yes I am it is only10:15. I shortly after shut it down, but could not sleep till about 1am,in which I woke many times after. I am not sure if it was my cold, ornerves about race day.
I woke early and headed out to the TTF, in which since I was parkedbehind the admiral I was off first and arrived first. Tdisckree had atroubled look on his face when I was there before the admiral. Sinceschool was delayed we were in no rush to get to the track. It was veryenjoyable. Once we stopped tdisct(w) we started our slow warm up. Tdk said he reada book and it says slow warm up. But after 2km in race day was on.
Lap 12 pace picked up
Lap 14 tdisct(w) made a fake sprint ahead to spook the admiral (hedidn't bite)
Lap 14.5 admiral regained the lead
Lap 18 tdisct(w) again pulled a head of the admiral, and the admiralsaid "I don't think so" and pulled back in the lead
Lap 22 the pace continue to grow faster, and a comment from thecompetition said holy your pace is quick how much longer?
Lap 22.25 the admiral says don't $@%&ing worry about it
Lap 24 admiral said "I hate being the pace bunny, kree take over"
Lap 25 tdisckree was so honored he picked up the pace
Lap 30 tidisckree was a half length out in the lead, but didn't know
Lap 33 it was back to a tight pack with tdisckree still leadingLap
35 tdisct(w) dropped off, and tdiscgreggy took the leadLap
35.5 race was on, pace sped up to 6:02 mile (6:27 mile is 40 min10k)
Lap 40 all three were wondering who would kick, breathing got heavy
Lap 41 tdiscgreggy still leading with tdisckree right off his leftshoulder, and the admiral right off his right
Lap 42 tdisckree and tdiscgreggy were waiting for the admiral to makehis move
Lap 44 .T(w) waves her arm (indicating bell lap)
Lap 45 tdiscgreggy took off full sprint, tidisckree 3 seconds later didthe same with the admiral right with him
Lap 46 two of the big three almost passed out walking the cool down lap, while the admiral gave high fives for a great run

When asked about the race by reporters after....Tdisct(w) had this to say. It was quite the race day. Personally when I woke up this morning, I wanted to punch the clock and go back to sleep. After some encouragement from the roomies, I reluctantly packed my bag and skidded my way to UPEI on severely icy roads. I made it to the track before the tdisc group. I heard whispers they engaged in a team prayer at the TTF to get prepped for the race. Since I had a few laps in, they let me lead for one lap until the admiral's competitive edge took hold and he jumped out into the front. The group did a good warm up for about 2km until suddenly the pace quickened by approx 3 min/mile faster in one lap. I'm not sure what brought it on, but all of a sudden, a good jog turned into a battle. I was left to fend for myself and I really missed tdiscpye at that time. At one point, the admiral turned to me and said 'are you ok?' Since I was too tired to trip him, I dug deep and kept up for one more lap. Because I have to be at work earlier, I only did 4 miles instead of the groups 5. After I stopped, the pace continued to be physcotic and they finished with a full out sprint.

Ok i'm late for breakfast....had to hury the blog. Back in to tokyo today.

Race day is a go!

Good morning from Japan. My sleep is all out of whack. It's 5 a.m and i'm blogging...had a great sleep with my one small pillow. I woke up a lot to turn it sideways.
I just recieved word from Tdisckree that the boys did get a workout in today. Rumour has it that the admiral was in swimming with a fellow triathlete. They also jumped into an early week spin class of T(w)'s. Today when asked by reporters...how did the admiral do adjusting to a different spin time? Tdisckree had this to say. 'It threw the Admiral off a bit cause we had to ride in the back row and there was a lot of talking going on. It was a much different atmosphere then the typical thursday morning session. People were taking water breaks and others were chattering during intense hill sprints. It just wasn't the same .... without Mathew and Bob breathing down your neck on the sprints its hard to get motivated.Me, Admiral and Tdisctw jogged about two kilometers after."
He also mentioned to me that all indications are that there will be a race day tommorow. Like every other race day...anything can happen...but what we do know is that it will be fast.
I'm off to Tokyo....get some rest...Race day is tommorow.

Yokoso! Japan

We arrived in Japan about 5 hours ago. The flight went well...the food was surprisingly good...but holy smokes it is a long trip across. The only snag I ran into was when the japanese customs trainee didn't want to let me through because I didn't know the name of the hotel. He really wanted me to give him a name of some hotel and I just didn't know any. Eventually him and Raymond had a conversation and he let me through. So we then met up with kusaku and he took us to the subway station where we would board and go to our hotel. I was a little spooked...I was a lot like the admiral on a swim day with full lanes and a lesson going on. There was Japanese people everywhere...and nothing looked familier. The hotel is nice...It's in a town called Shiba. The rooms are different...there not big....and as I've come to realize already...NOTHING is big in Japan. We then went for supper at a traditional Japanese restaurant. Holy cow...my meal consisted of chicken skin on a stick, chicken gizzard on a stick, chicken liver on a stick, sticky rice with raw squid(it's fricken crunchy). pork on a stick, and quail eggs. Ya it was different...but I was full leaving. We then just came back to the hotel to get some sleep...we are heading into tokyo tommorow. One funny thing was that....people are always going...hi,hi, hihi, hi, hi. I didn't realize that hi=yes....and when I leave the hotel we have to hand our keys back then they give them to us when we come back.
I was just talking to T(w) and found out that we are getting freezing rain at home and that Tdisc training has been canceled for the day. When I have more news than I will pass it on. Off to bed I go. 13 hours ahead.
